How it works

Mom turns 75: Elena and her brother make her a poster, filmed in FamilyBranch itself.
1

Start with yourself

Add your name and photo, then your parents and grandparents. Your tree begins with you.

2

Invite your family

Send an invite from any relative's card. Each person claims their own profile and adds the photos and stories only they remember.

3

Print it for the occasion

Preview the exact sheet, choose who is on it, add balloons for a birthday, and download a print-ready PDF or JPEG.

Already keep a tree on Ancestry, MyHeritage or FamilySearch? Bring the whole of it over in one GEDCOM file.

Everything your family needs

Build together

Grandma in Madrid, cousins in Kyiv — everyone edits the same tree, each in their own language.

Photos in every branch

Put a face to every name, and head the whole tree with a family photo.

A preview that is the file

See the exact poster before you download it: who is on it, who is left out and what size it comes out.

Print one side of the family

Save a branch, such as Mum's side, and print or share it on its own. Branches are free on every plan.

Share without an account

Send a view-only link to the whole tree or just one branch. Anyone can open it, and you can revoke it at any time.

Your tree, in and out

Bring a tree from Ancestry, MyHeritage or FamilySearch as a GEDCOM file, and download yours the same way on every plan.

For the big birthday

A poster that says happy birthday

Centre the tree on the person celebrating and tick “Festive design”: their card gets balloons and confetti, and the title becomes the greeting, with the age they are turning worked out from their birth date.

  • Included in every plan, even the free one
  • Parents, children and grandchildren around them on one sheet
  • Your own title if you type one, kept exactly as you wrote it
  • A print-ready PDF or JPEG, to frame as the gift

Never miss the day
Family plan

The day before each living relative's birthday, the whole family gets an email and a notification: time to print the poster, or just to call.

Make a birthday poster
A festive family tree poster titled “Happy 75th birthday, Halyna!”, with balloons and confetti around her card
A real export with the festive design, for Halyna's 75th.

Frequently asked questions

Who can see my family tree? +

Only the people you invite. Your tree is private by default — you control sharing.

Can I take my tree elsewhere? +

Yes, on every plan. An admin can download the whole tree as a GEDCOM file, which every family tree program reads, and posters come as PDF or JPEG.

How much does it cost? +

Free for one tree of up to 25 people, with a small watermark on posters. The Family plan removes both limits and the watermark, prints A3 PDFs and double-resolution JPEGs, and adds birthday reminders for the whole family. Relatives you invite never pay.

Can I make a poster for someone's birthday? +

Yes, on every plan. Open Print, centre the tree on the person celebrating and tick “Festive design”: balloons and confetti go around their card, and the title becomes a greeting with the age they are turning. On the Family plan, FamilyBranch also reminds the whole family the day before each living relative's birthday.

Can I bring my tree over from Ancestry or MyHeritage? +

Yes. Export it there as a GEDCOM file and choose “Import from GEDCOM” on your tree list. People, parents, partners, dates and places come over; linked photographs come over when included in a ZIP or GEDZIP archive; sources stay behind. A file can hold up to 5,000 people. On the free plan, a tree of more than 25 people can be viewed, printed and shared, but not edited.

Why doesn't the chart show everyone at once? +

The chart is drawn around one person at a time: their ancestors, their descendants with their partners, and their brothers and sisters. Relatives on side branches — a sibling's family, your partner's parents, aunts and uncles — appear when you centre the chart on someone closer to them. The people list finds anyone and centres on them in one click.
